Weekly Fishing Report for Minersville Reservoir

There is no Beaver Mt. runoff flowing into the reservoir. There is no irrigation water being taken out as yet.

Water Temperature - 50-55 degrees and crystal clear

There is some algae growth that floats and messes up the fishing. The wind carries it into the bank, affecting fishing from the shore.

Some bass and wipers are being caught. The trout fishing has been spotty with the fish moving into the shore and feeding on midge hatches. Float tubers are catching trout on buggers fished deep and slow.

Midge patterns - black, and size 16-20, fished 4 feet under. An indicator has been working good.

When the bite is on for trout, be sure you use 6 lb. test leader, as a lot of trout are in the 17-20 inch range, and 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs, with lots of fight in them.
