Monday, June 6th - Weekly Fishing Report for Minersville Reservoir

The water temp is holding in the low 60's. The water level is dropping some as the run-off from the Beaver (Tushar) Mts has slowed.

The bass guys held their big tournament last Saturday. The report is that there were lots of 2-3 lb bass caught, but no real big ones. The bass were just coming onto their nests. We need a good bass hatch, as the bass have to reproduce naturally in the lake. If the water level holds, there might be a good hatch this spring.

The trout are in great shape, with lots of 18-20 inch rainbows being caught. The trout are scattered all over the lake, so trolling everywhere has been productive. The tubers are doing good with brown buggers, fished on sinking line -12 ft deep. Gray-colored flies fish 8 ft down under an indicator, which has worked well.

Shore fishing is spotty if you can hit the mayfly hatch that comes on about 10:00 to noon.

The trout are worth the effort, as they are in good shape, and very lively. Use tipple less than 5 lb and you are going to break off some fish.

Good fishing!
