Board Responsibilities & Organization

As established by state statute, the elected Beaver County Board of Commissioners holds the executive and legislative responsibilities, powers, and functions of the county government. The Board is tasked with levying taxes, adopting ordinances, and setting policies related to county affairs for the more than 6,000 residents of Beaver County. The Board is composed of three elected county commissioners.

Additionally, the board meets quarterly with the Mayors and City Council persons in a Council of Governments to coordinate the functions of local government in Beaver County.
